What Is My Islamic Birthday? Free Hijri Birthday Finder

What is my Islamic birthday? Enter your date of birth and this free Hijri birthday finder converts it to the Islamic (lunar) calendar, shows the date in Arabic, tells you your age in Hijri years and gives the expected English date of your next Islamic birthday.

Please note: Hijri dates follow the moon. This tool uses the Umm al-Qura calendar, so your date may be one day earlier or later than the date announced after local moon sighting in your country.

How to Find Your Hijri Birthday

  1. Enter your date of birth from your ID card or birth certificate.
  2. Tap “Find My Islamic Birthday”. You will see your Hijri birth date in English and Arabic, your Hijri age and today’s Hijri date.
  3. Note your next Islamic birthday and share it with family, or use it as a day for extra dua, sadaqah and gratitude.

How the Hijri Calendar Works

The Islamic calendar is lunar. Each month starts with the new crescent moon and lasts 29 or 30 days, so a Hijri year is about 354 or 355 days, roughly 11 days shorter than the English (Gregorian) year. That is why Ramadan and Eid move earlier every year, and why your Islamic birthday falls on a different English date each year.

This tool uses the Umm al-Qura calendar, the official calculated calendar of Saudi Arabia, built into modern web browsers. Because the start of each month depends on moon sighting, your Hijri date may be one day earlier or later than the date announced in Pakistan, India or your local masjid.

Many people like to know their Hijri birth date because it connects their life to the Islamic months. Being born in Ramadan, in Dhu al-Hijjah or on a Friday often becomes a special family story, and some families use the Islamic birthday as a quiet day for extra dua and charity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my Islamic birthday?

Your Islamic birthday is your date of birth in the Hijri (lunar) calendar. Enter your English date of birth above and the tool shows the Hijri day, month and year.

Why is my Hijri age higher than my normal age?

A Hijri year is about 11 days shorter than a Gregorian year, so you complete Hijri years a little faster. After about 33 years the difference adds up to roughly one extra year.

Is the Hijri date always exact?

Not always. The tool uses the Umm al-Qura calendar. Local moon sighting can make the actual date one day earlier or later in your country.

Do Muslims celebrate birthdays?

Scholars have different views on celebrating birthdays. Many families simply use the day for gratitude, dua and charity. Please follow the guidance of your own scholars.

Is my date of birth saved?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser and nothing is sent to our server.
